New 20,000-Seat Sunset Amphitheater Set to Open in McKinney, Texas
The city of McKinney, Texas is about to get a major entertainment upgrade with the opening of a brand new, state-of-the-art amphitheater. The Sunset Amphitheater, with a seating capacity of 20,000, is set to become the largest venue in North Texas.
Built by music venue and hospitality company Notes Live, the open-air amphitheater will be located on the northeast corner of US-75 and SH-121. Modeled after Notes’ successful center in Colorado Springs, the venue will span over 46 acres and feature 250 luxury fire pit suites.
McKinney Mayor George Fuller expressed his excitement about the new addition to the city, stating, “This world-class music venue is a game-changer for our entertainment offerings in McKinney and will be a boon for our economic growth and tourism sector. With a state-of-the-art venue of this size, we can draw some of the largest musical acts to the city and attract fans from across Texas and the surrounding states.”
According to Notes Live, the amphitheater is expected to support over 1,300 jobs and create over $3 billion of regional and local economic activity in the first 10 years of operation. Construction is set to begin later this year, with the venue projected to open its doors in 2026.
The Sunset Amphitheater is poised to bring even more life and energy to McKinney’s already thriving arts scene, solidifying the city as an entertainment and cultural hub in the region. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new development in North Texas.
