Reba McEntire to Host ACM Awards with Tribute to Toby Keith
Country music fans are in for a treat as Reba McEntire gears up to host the Academy of Country Music Awards on Thursday. The star-studded event, taking place at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, will mark McEntire’s record-breaking 17th time as emcee.
“I love the award show because it’s almost like a family reunion,” McEntire shared with The Associated Press.
One of the highlights of the night will be a special tribute to the late Toby Keith, performed by Jason Aldean. Keith, who passed away in February, will be honored for his iconic career and legacy.
The list of performers for the evening is nothing short of impressive, with names like Kane Brown, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett, Post Malone, and more set to take the stage. Fans can also look forward to exciting collaborations, including Kelsea Ballerini with Noah Kahan, Blake Shelton with Gwen Stefani, and Nate Smith with Avril Lavigne.
Leading the pack in nominations this year is Luke Combs, with a total of eight nods. Other notable nominees include Morgan Wallen, Megan Moroney, Cody Johnson, and Chris Stapleton.
The ACM festivities kicked off earlier this week with the new artist of the year awards being handed out at the ACM Country Kickoff fan festival. Megan Moroney, Nate Smith, and Tigirlily Gold were among the winners in their respective categories.
For those looking to tune in to the 2024 ACM Awards, the show will be streaming on Prime Video and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch Live at 8 p.m. ET. A red carpet feed will also be available on various platforms starting at 7 p.m. ET.
With a lineup of talented performers, heartfelt tributes, and exciting collaborations, this year’s ACM Awards are sure to be a night to remember for country music fans everywhere.
