The Giraffe Inn and Safari: A Unique Getaway in East Texas

NEW BOSTON, Texas – Nestled in the countryside of New Boston is a 900-acre property bought by Tony Dierolf and his wife Tiffany. They have opened a unique inn that offers customers the opportunity to connect with nature while enjoying the plush comforts of a hotel: The Giraffe Inn and Safari. This one-of-a-kind getaway is located right in the piney woods of East Texas.

“It started with a dream to own a safari and only grew from there,” said Tony Dierolf, the owner of Giraffe Inn & Safari. “Something that I wanted kids to be able to enjoy and/or the public to be able to enjoy.”

Tiffany always wanted a place to experience giraffes up close, and Tony made it happen by bringing the Giraffe Inn & Safari to life. The main attraction of the inn is the giraffes, but guests can also see other species such as sloths, water buffalo, fennec foxes, lemurs, and porcupines.

If guests want the full experience, they can book one of the rooms that give them access to feed the giraffes right from their room. “You can see them in a big four-by-four picture window and just kick back in the comfort of your own room and experience the giraffe,” Tiffany explained.

In addition to the giraffe experience, the property also offers The Lodge Bed and Breakfast for those who prefer a different type of accommodation. Guests can enjoy a petting zoo, drive through the safari, and even have special animal encounters like feeding kangaroos.

With a focus on preservation, Tony and Tiffany plan to hold educational programs and workshops in the future. They hope to eventually expand the safari to all 900 acres for a full day of safari fun in East Texas. The Giraffe Inn & Safari is set to hold its grand opening around the beginning of June.
