Chris Brown and Live Nation Face Another Civil Lawsuit After Backstage Fight
The latest legal trouble for R&B star Chris Brown continues as a new civil lawsuit has been filed against him, members of his entourage, and Live Nation. The lawsuit, filed by Frederick Overpeck, a staff member at Dickies Arena, alleges that he was severely injured while trying to protect fans from Brown and his entourage after a concert in Fort Worth, Texas.
According to Overpeck’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, the altercation was described as a “prison yard beat down” that occurred without provocation. Overpeck claims that Brown threw the first punch and directed the violence that ensued, resulting in Overpeck suffering a cracked vertebrae in his neck and being unable to work.
The lawsuit also mentions that the fans who were attacked during the incident have filed a separate $50-million lawsuit against Brown, his entourage, and Live Nation. They were granted a temporary restraining order and sought an injunction to prevent the defendants from tampering with evidence related to the incident.
Overpeck’s lawsuit details the brutal assault on the fans, with Brown and his entourage allegedly chasing down one of the victims, Larry Parker, and continuing to kick and stomp him. Overpeck intervened to try to stop the violence but was also attacked and suffered severe injuries.
Representatives for Brown and Live Nation have not yet responded to requests for comment on the new lawsuit. The legal battle surrounding this incident is ongoing, with Overpeck seeking justice for the injuries he sustained while trying to protect others from the violence allegedly perpetrated by Brown and his entourage.
